Schedule of Evaluations
Procedures for challenging a WRITTEN examination at Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training office
The office of Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training, Located within the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, is available for administration of written examinations from Tuesday-Thursday 9:00am until 2:00pm. Call ahead and inform any staff member of your intentions to challenge a written examination.
Procedures for attending a field delivered written or skills examination.
If you wish to attend a field level written or skills test, please refer to the calendar of events to locate a testing location and time that is beneficial to you. After you have decided on a location, please contact the host agency and receive their permission to attend the scheduled test. To locate phone number contact for all compliant Georgia fire departments, refer to the "compliant fire departments" link on our website. You should then contact Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training testing coordinator, Mr. John Johnson at 478-993-4515 or by e-mail at jjohnson@gpstc.state.ga.us to inform him of your intent to attend the test.
NOTICE: NO WALK-ON'S WILL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT PRIOR NOTIFICATION TO HOST DEPARTMENTS AND GA FIREFIGHTER STANDARDS AND TRAINING.
Module 1 of the Georgia Basic Firefighter Training Course Written Examination
Note: In a cooporative effort to make testing of Mod-1 more available for Georgia's volunteer firefighters, the Georgia Forestry Commission has agreed to offer these examinations on an as needed basis. Testing events may be arranged by contacting your District Forestry Office for scheduling. This resource should be used if you do not have the minimum number of candidates (12) for GFSTC to test at your department.
